Taking Applications

Friday, some insurance people came to work.  Like all insurance people they started asking 1,000,000 personal questions.  I was feeling feisty Friday so I thought I'd have some fun.  The conversation went something like this: Guy:  Ms. McWayne are you married? Me:  No, and Mrs. McWayne was my grandmother. Guy:  Do you have any children? Me:  I have 18 down in my classroom.  I get to spend all day with them and send them home to their moms that have to cook for them, make sure they take a bath and put them to bed.  I have no children of my home and I'm perfectly content to keep it that way. Guy:  (Nervous Laugh)  Do you ever plan to have children? Me:  Well, first I have to find a man to put a ring on this finger here, and then we can discuss children.  But, I'm a little hard to handle and no one has been up to the challenge yet, so we may never discuss children.  I am, however, always looking for the man, so yo...

Who I Am

Hello everyone! I am a 26 year old single woman.  I still live with my parents.  Even though sometimes I despise both of those facts, ultimately those are both choices I have made.  I could have gotten married at 23, believe it out not someone actually proposed to me.  However, I knew I would be settling and that wasn't good enough for me.  There was actually another guy that wanted to marry me as well, again, I knew that would be settling.  And yes, I could move out of my parents house and rent an apartment or buy a house.  But, A. I would not like to live alone.  B.  I'd be over at my parents house all the time anyway.  C. If I'm not paying rent, I can buy shoes. Apparently these facts make me an "outsider" or "weird' or "not right".  I don't really care. Also, while I am add it, here's some other facts about me. I like to buy shoes.  I like to buy lots of shoes.  When I'm feeling bad, I will buy shoes.  I wi...

Things A Girl Just Don't Understand

I am a college educated woman.  Furthermore, I am almost completed with my Masters Degree.  However, there are some things I just don't understand. For example, I don't understand why people think it's acceptable to wear pajamas in public.  Pajamas are made for the bedroom not Wal-Mart.  I also don't understand why they put the hill in the loaf of bread.  Who eats that crap? I don't understand why a round pizza comes in a square box. I don't understand rap music, or why I have to press one for English. I also don't understand who someone can change their feelings so quickly.  I don't get how you can go from "Hey I like you", to "I feel awkward" in less than an hour.  I don't understand why I'm not worth a little effort.  Oh well, maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

Ms. Megan's Fashions Rules

Not that I am like a budding fashionista or anything, but I have come up with a short list of rules of fashion for your reading pleasure.  *I am by no means calling any person out, just my thoughts that I choose to share with you fine people* Rule One:  Don't Trust Women That Don't Wear Heels. You may wonder why I feel this way.  Well, I'll tell you.  Heels hurt.  They take commitment to wear.  You have to have confidence, tolerance and a commitment to wear them.  Those are all good qualities for a woman to have.  If you can't handle to pain of heels, you cannot handle the pain life brings.  If you can't commit to wear uncomfortable shoes, you can't commit to a friendship. Rule Two:  Sparkles Make You Feel Better Think about it...sparkles are shiny.  Shiny things are bright and fun.  You cant be sad, mad, or upset if you are shiny and fun.  (Sparkles can be rhinestones, glitter, sequins, etc.) Rule Three:  ...

Backlash

Apparently I need to make some clarifications. 1.  I am an open book.  Always have been.  I tell it how it is.  I am not shy.  I don't easily get embarrassed.  I started writing this blog for the fun of it.  I didn't even publish or share most of it for a long time.  I shared my first post and got lots of positive feedback from my friends and family.  Most of the people told me that loved that I was honest and wasn't afraid to be myself, that's something I am proud of. 2.  Something else I am proud of is that fact I do have a relationship with God.  We're tight.  I know there is someone out there for me.  I know it will all be in His timing.  Funny things seem to happen to me when I am single and dating so I thought I would share those thoughts and feelings.  It doesn't mean I'm depressed, need therapy, or dont' believe in God and His plan for me. 3.  When I wanted to start blogging, the advice on blog...

Single and Fabulous Once Again

I find myself single once again, although I never quite lost my fabulous-ness.  The breakup was something that needed to happen, and while I can't say that it didn't hurt, I am ok with it at this point.   But, I have come to realize that for most of my adult life, I have been in a relationship.  I guess that's why I find being single so dang hard now.  Granted, I spent my teenage years suffering through the single stages, but since the ripe old age of 21 I have spent most of my days committed to another individual (not counting the summers I took off from boyfriend #1).  The longest period I have been single since 2007 is a whooping six months.  In the week since I have been single it hasn't taken me very long to remember all the reasons I hate being single.  For instance the everybody's in love be me feeling.  I love my friends and coworkers to pieces but I get tired of feeling like the only person that is alone.  I have some very wonde...
