CMA Fest Weekend

I am a big country music fan.  Plus I'm a big fan of live music.  Also I am a huge fan of Music City.  So it's a no brainer that CMA Fest is one of my favorite things on the planet.

I feel in love with CMA Fest last year when I went.  It was amazing.

This year I wasn't sure I was getting to go.  I was a little bummed.

However, by pure accident I ordered tickets for the Opry to see Carrie Underwood on Friday June 7.  I didn't realize that it was CMA Fest weekend until I tried to book a hotel and there were not hotels in Nashville.  Oops.

So I booked a hotel in Brentwood and decided to make the most out of my happy mistake!

So Friday, we rolled into down in a ran storm and found our hotel.  We changed clothes and got ready then headed out to the Opry.  We went to Orpy Mills Mall first, I hit up the Vera Bradley Outlet and got some sweet deals.

Then we went to the Opry.  It was a great show, I did miss Little Jimmy Dickens though.  It was Carrie Underwood's fifth anniversary as an Opry Member.  I have only seen her one other time and that was at CMA fest last year.  She is flawless and is an amazing talent!  If you have never been to the Opry, you should go!

We had purchased tickets for Fan Fair on Saturday.  So we woke up extremely early and drove into the Nashville.  Fan Fair was crazy this year!  It was at the new Music City Center and the place was HUGE!  Everybody and their brother were trying to meet Duck Dynasty.  I, however, was more excited to meet Mark Wills.
Then we walked around Fan Fair, got free stuff and took some pictures with Dog and Beth and the Cast of Nashville.
Then we took some really zoomed in pictures of Duck Dynasty since there was no way we where getting up there to meet them.
I also met a little band (really little) The Cadillac Three.  They opened up for a band I have seen before but I don't remember who.  I call this picture "Too Much Hair"

Then we ventured down Broadway for some more free stuff on our way to River Front for some good country music.  There were saw my boyfriend, Jerrod Niemann.
After we listened to Jerrod (yes I was that close, it's not zoomed in much), we walked back down Broadway and stopped at the ABC Tent where we got to meet Jason Thompson (Dr. Patrick Drake from General Hospital).  I got to jump in line and met him really quick so I didn't have time worry about what I was going to say to him, so my conversation with him was normal.  I told him congrats on his Emmy nomination and told him that he should win, which I totally believe.

After we met Jason Thompson I dragged Lindsay to The Tequila Cowboy to get the listen to the Springs.  They are my favorite!  I saw them in December 2011 and see them every time we are in Nashville at the same time.  Usually I yell at them and tell them what I want them to play, and occasionally get on stage and play tambourine or dance.  They are really great people and I believe you should got their website and check them.

If you are a music fan, or a fan of having fun, you should most def make the trip to Nashville during CMA Fest.  There is so much going on in downtown Nashville during that weekend.  You don't even have to fork out the big bucks for the concerts at LP Field.  I am counting down the days until I'm there again!

Let's get some things straight

First thing's first, don't think I will type something every day, I won't. Secondly, apparently some folks think I am not happy.  That is totally not the case.  I know I did at one point in my post last night refer to this point in my life as a "season of sadness".  I did not mean necessarily mean I am sad and you should feel sorry for me (or offer up your advice on finding a man).  This year has sucked.  And it has nothing to do with a man. I am content as I am.  It took me 30 years to like myself and the person I am and I will not start feeling sorry for myself again.  Yes, there are times it would be nice to have a man.  It would be nice to have a relationship, someone to spend time with, and someone to share life with.  However, I know what I want.  I know what I don't.  And I know what I will not settle for. I will not settle for less than what I want or less than what I deserve.  I would rather be alone and unha...

Better

Last year during a book study at school we were reading The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon.  One of our assignments during our study was to pick one word for our year which is also based on a book, My One Word by Mike Ashcraft and Rachel Olsen. Long story short, instead of making a resolution for the New Year.  You pick a word.  If you go here  you can read about that. Basically, here is a simple three step introduction. Step One:  Determine the kind of person you want to be. Step Two:  Identify the characteristics of that person. Step Three:  Pick a word. Last year, I picked the word consistent. I felt that I did a good job being consistent. I started thinking about what word I wanted to use for 2019.  I have been thinking for a few weeks.  I have still been thinking about the person I want to be this year, and for every year for that matter.  I have thought about those characteristics of that person.  And today, on th...

Link Up

Finish The Sentence With Jake & Holly Hey!  I've never done a link up before but I thought, why not.  My page sucks and I'm almost embarrassed to link up and have some really cool "professional" type bloggers look at it, but oh well.  Make fun if you want, I'm a stressed out teacher, that hasn't even had time to blog in ages. Anyways I read these link up things all the time, always wanted to join in the fun.  This one looked fun...so here it goes.  I hope I don't suck.  BTW, I'm such I loser I don't know how to link up right, sorry I'm a failure My happy place... Walking down Broadway in Nashville, TN.  I love all the live music you can hear from every honky tonk.  Or at a musical.... Or at a live concert... Or the beach...  Pretty much if you get my out of the house or work I'm friggin' happy. Whatever happened to... Andrew Keegan.  I may google that later.  (and yes the Full House song popped in my head too...
